The fest is thrilled to welcome film critic Brian Tallerico to OIFF 2024. Tallerico is the Managing Editor of RogerEbert.com. His reviews have also appeared in The New York TImes, GQ, and Rolling Stone. Additionally, he is the president of the Chicago Film Critics Association. 

At OIFF, we believe that movie critics don't just recommend what movies to see or avoid. We think critics play a vital role in creating the most creative conversation about movies. A good critic wants to believe in a film. In that spirit, Brian Tallerico's criticism demonstrates good will for films and filmmakers. His reviews show a deep knowledge of film history and a fan's unabashed love of cinema. Just read his recent review of The Fall Guy. His criticism is equally eloquent and accessible, always seeking out the most generous and subtle reading of a film. Perhaps most importantly, he has a sense of humor to match his thoughtfulness. 

Tallerico will be in conversation with Bernardo Britto, our Director's Spotlight Honoree, following a surprise screening of Britto's work. Don't miss this conversation on the last day of the festival-Sunday, June 23, at 7pm.
